A deconsecrated Grade II* listed church in Marylebone converted into a community sports centre.

Christ Church in Marylebone is a Grade II* listed building that had been deconsecrated and left vacant, while the charity Greenhouse Sports was operating without a permanent base. The project brought the two together, converting the historic church into a multi-purpose sports centre and headquarters for the charity. The new facilities accommodate twenty table-tennis tables, alongside spaces for volleyball, judo and other community activities.

Our involvement extended from the project’s inception through to completion, including the detailed listed building consent process with Westminster City Council and Historic England. The completed building opened in 2018, giving the charity a permanent home while bringing a significant historic building back into active use.
