55–73 Duke Street

This group of Grade II-listed buildings in the heart of Mayfair had been used for commercial purposes for many years. The project sought to reintroduce residential use while protecting and enhancing the character of the historic fabric. The buildings were converted to provide sixteen lateral apartments and four duplex retail units, with carefully considered contemporary interventions integrated alongside the existing structure.

The approach was guided by the conservation of the buildings’ historic fabric, with new elements designed to sit comfortably within the existing architecture rather than compete with it. The scheme also extended beyond the buildings themselves, improving the surrounding public realm and strengthening their relationship with the wider Mayfair streetscape.
