A new hall and permanent home for the Ightham Scouts.
The 1st Ightham Scout Group required a permanent home on a constrained site within an established recreation ground. The available land was steeply sloping, so the new hall and changing facilities were carefully integrated into the existing terrain, allowing the building to sit discreetly within the park. Larch cladding gives the building a robust, natural character, while translucent polycarbonate gables introduce generous daylight into the main hall.
The project was delivered through an extensive programme of community fundraising, supported by local businesses who contributed materials, labour and expertise. The completed building was formally opened by the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling.
