Historic Buildings Architecture Portfolio

The change of use and reconstruction behind the existing façade of a Grade II landmark building in London's Kings Cross providing office and retail use, with a new floor of offices under a stepping vaulted zinc roof. The building is built directly on two underground train tunnels, creating significant design and construction challenges.

The Lighthouse . London WC1X

A mixed use development of 16 lateral apartments and 4 duplex retail units in the heart of Mayfair. The existing Grade II listed buildings were converted from commercial to residential use with sensitive yet contemporary interventions within the existing fabric. The scheme also involves enhancements to the public realm, and was granted planning and listed buildings consent in May 2009.

55-73 Duke Street . London W1K

The refurbishment and extension of a substantial Grade II* listed office building in the heart of London's West End. The Design and Build contract included the rationalisation of the existing core, extension into existing lightwells and the overall modernisation of the building.

80 Pall Mall . London SW1Y

Latitude has been granted planning and listed building consent for the conversion of the deconsecrated Christ Church in Marylebone, London into a multi purpose sports centre.
The Grade II* listed building will house the headquarters of the charity and will accommodate volleyball and judo but be primarily used for table tennis coaching and tournaments.

35 Cosway Street . London NW1

The major internal reorganisation, extension and conversion of a Grade II listed office building into 6 luxury apartments and a ground floor restaurant use.

22 Grosvenor Square . London W1K

The design of two floors of new office accommodation and the refurbishment of public areas for the Ambassador Theatre Group. The office space, including a new call centre for their national reservations service, is accessed from a new highly glazed contemporary core inserted into the alleyway at the side of the Grade II listed theatre. The refurbishment of the public areas includes new public bars, circulation and wc provision.

Duke of York’s Theatre . London WC2N

The central design challenge was the creation of five contemporary lateral apartments within the historic fabric of two Grade II listed Georgian town houses. Working with English Heritage and Westminster City Council conservation officers, design solutions were developed that included a stone clad double height glazed extension to the rear and unique walnut-clad bathroom pods.
